The learner will:

  • Tell a story or recount an experience with appropriate facts and relevant details
  • Use an appropriate voice level for the situation
  • Express ideas and feelings clearly with relevant detail
  • Speak clearly enough to be understood

Supportive Practices

The adult will:

  • Provide opportunities for oral language use
  • Model appropriate oral presentation skills
  • Encourage students to use appropriate volume and pacing
  • Speak to and engage students in group and individual conversations daily
  • Re-phrase student’s sentence structure or grammar by repeating the sentence properly
