Participants will explore the benefits of AI in education, including virtual learning environments and personalized learning experiences - while balancing challenges like cost and privacy concerns. The course will also address ethical considerations, including bias and discrimination and the potential replacement of human teachers.
Course goals are designed to assist educators on effective integration of AI into learning, focusing on reflection, testing, and fostering ethical thinking in students. Educators will be able to make informed decisions and positively impact student learning experiences through an understanding of AI.
Included in this five-hour course are a pre-assessment to gauge participant knowledge about AI, videos, practice scenarios, and other resources for responsible AI integration. Educators can consider how cheating and plagiarism are defined under this new educational landscape, engage with tools to integrate AI into the classroom, and respond to prompts about how schools should approach integration responsibly.
