Governor's Civic Engagement Awards

9/11/2024

The Governor's Civic Engagement Awards program is an exciting opportunity for high schools to actively engage students in voter registration and the electoral process. This initiative not only rewards students but also recognizes schools for their commitment to civic responsibility. By participating, your students will have the chance to volunteer and help administer key parts of the electoral process.

Here’s how it works: Schools interested in joining simply need to sign up and designate a coordinator. Once enrolled, students can organize registration drives, making it easy for their eligible peers to register to vote. Schools that successfully register 85% or more of their eligible students will receive the prestigious Gold Level Award, while those registering between 65% and 84% will earn the Silver Level Award. Plus, any student who serves as a poll worker on Election Day is eligible for the GCEA Student Poll Worker Award!
