2024 Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year

PDE congratulates Miss Ashlie Crosson, the 2024 Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year.  Ashlie is a secondary teacher at Mifflin County High School in the Mifflin County School District. A teacher of English 10, AP Language & Composition, and Journalism, Ashlie holds a Bachelor of Arts in English/Journalism, a Masters in Educational Leadership, and a gifted education endorsement. 

In 2018, she became a Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms fellow. Through this, she solidified her understanding of global competencies and completed a field experience teaching in Morocco. She recently received board-approval to lead her school’s first international trip; starting a culture of travel is an invaluable component to helping rural students compete and collaborate in the global workforce. 

Through her dedication, creativity, and passion for educating her students, Ashlie is the epitome of excellence in teaching. Her tireless efforts and dedication to the students and community she serves should inspire educators everywhere.
