Pennsylvania Evidence Resource Center
The Evidence for PA website is Pennsylvania’s statewide clearinghouse for evidence based educational strategies, created by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to help schools improve student outcomes. The Evidence Resource Center (ERC) aims to help Pennsylvania’s school communities thoughtfully apply high-quality, relevant research to their own settings.
Strategy groupings include:
- Future Ready Pa Indicators
- Academics
- Learning Environment
- Educators and Staff
The ERC provides research reviewed strategies aligned to ESSA evidence tiers, organized around priority topics such as student attendance, graduation rates, college and career readiness, English Language Arts, mathematics, English learners, and more. The site highlights featured areas like student attendance—“linked to higher rates of academic achievement and other positive outcomes for students”—and offers collections for out of school time, early college models, and other emerging practices. It also includes tools for educators to search evidence, learn about research standards, understand ESSA tiers, and explore Pennsylvania’s frameworks such as the Future Ready PA Index, which “moves beyond a single, summative score to increase transparency around school and student group performance.” Overall, the site serves as a practical, research grounded resource to help Pennsylvania educators select, understand, and implement strategies proven to support student success.
